When a shopper gets stuck, needs a custom price or wants to pay by invoice, you can turn their exact cart into a Shopify draft order without rebuilding it by hand.

Create the draft order

Open Cart Whisper from Apps in your Shopify admin.

Find the cart. Search your dashboard, use the Cart ID the shopper gave you, or click View Cart from the Live activity feed.

On the cart page (titled Cart ID: …), check the items and quantities.

Click Convert to Draft Order. You'll see Draft order created.

Click Go to draft order to open it in Shopify.

If the cart belongs to a known customer, Cart Whisper attaches the customer to the draft order. For B2B customers ordering for a company, it attaches the company and location.

Send it to your customer

Cart Whisper creates the draft order but doesn't send anything to your customer. Review the draft order in Shopify, then use Shopify's own tools to send an invoice or complete the order.

If the cart changes

If the cart has changed since you created the draft order, click Update draft order to bring the draft order up to date. The button is greyed out when nothing has changed. To start a fresh draft order instead, open More actions and choose Create new draft order.

Out-of-stock or zero-quantity items

If any item can't be added, Cart Whisper opens a window listing the problem items. Adjust or remove them, then click Accept to continue.

Troubleshooting

The buttons are greyed out. Draft orders need an active Cart Whisper plan. Check your plan.

You see "Error converting to draft order". The message underneath gives Shopify's reason (for example, an unavailable product). Fix the item and try again, or email the error to support@cartwhisper.com.

The cart has already been ordered. Once a cart becomes an order, there's nothing left to convert.
